Koji Releases “Keeping Count”

Koji has released a new, Donald Trump inspired song called “Keeping Count.” Political statements through music have long been part of the community and Koji takes a more subtle approach to it. It isn’t an in-your-face song, but he gets his point across just fine with an acoustic guitar. Check out the song plus an interview with Koji over at AltPress.

Review: Koji – ‘Fury’

by Deanna Chapman

I’ve come to have quite the collection of Koji releases. I even somehow ended up standing on an Acoustic Basement stage with him one year at Warped Tour because there were so many people there to see him, he just has us come right up on the stage. It was an experience to remember and that was the day I really got into his music. Koji puts so much emotion and thought into his lyrics, it’s almost unbelievable. His latest release, Fury, is no exception.

The title track kicks off the EP and you instantly hear a full band. The EP has a very summery feel to it. The previous two releases from Koji, Matters and Crooked In My Mind, had a much different tone. It’s amazing the ability he has to write so many various kinds of songs. He can work with acoustic songs as a solo act or have a full band and you’ll likely love both no matter what. In “Everyday,” lyrics such as “I can’t make it out without you” may seem trivial upon just reading them, but once you hear the way Koji sings those lyrics, they tell a whole different story. There’s only four songs on the EP, which in my opinion, was not nearly enough, so there isn’t much else to say other than that this is a great EP and fits right on in with the start of summer. Koji is a great guy, great songwriter, and there’s not much else you can ask for when looking for great music.
