Review: Farnsworth – Farnsworth EP

by Deanna Chapman

Farnsworth released a four-song self-titled EP on August 7th. The band blends together an excellent combination of rock styles. Think some good ol’ Classic Rock from the 60’s and 70’s with a tinge of some distortion borrowed from the 90’s. “On The Ground Again” is a great kick off for the EP and instantly shows you how talented the band is. You get some acoustic guitar mixed with full-blown guitar rock. The band has been likened to a mix of The Black Keys and The Black Crows. That’s a vibe you can definitely gather from their music. “For You” is also a great song. I absolutely love the bass to start and then as more instruments come in, the song fills out wonderfully.

There isn’t a whole lot more I can say about this album other than if you enjoy some good guitar rock you should check it out. Part of me was hoping I’d get more than just four songs but I’ll have to settle with these for now. This is easily music I can either rock out to or get some work done, both of school are two very important things I look for in music. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
