Marco With Love was kind enough to answer some questions we had about the recording process and build up to their upcoming release. check out what they had to say below along with a stream of their new single “Tidal Wave.”

For those who may not be familiar with the band, where are you all from and how did you meet?
Like most other New Yorkers we all came from different places. The band is currently residing in Brooklyn, NY.Pete and Blaine met at a Pilates retreat, Marco and Subodh met at a ping pong tournament. One of those is actually true guess which one?

NYC has a big music scene. How did you get noticed?
At times “the scene" can be tough to crack and seem difficult to be heard in such an over over saturated place. But we try not to worry about that. We love New York. We try are best to make honest quality music with heart and soul and really love playing out live. For us, the performance is just as important as the music. When the right balance is achieved during a live show we are transmitting some powerful energy.

What is it like recording at Virtue and Vice Studios?
It’s great! Recording with Rocky at V&V always seems like second nature to us. We have great chemistry and everything feels natural.
The guys and I trust him with getting the bands sound right. It doesn’t hurt that he has some extremely cool audio toys in the studio. For starters, we record through a vintage 24 track Neve 5315 console, and he’s also got a sweet 70’s Mellotron along with many other things that make vibey sounds! More recently the band and I have been helping him restore his VW bus “Big Girtha" in exchange for studio time.

You are releasing a cover song with this EP – what made you decide to do that and how did you go about picking the song?
He is one of the best songwriters of all time. Just ask Willie Nelson or Steve Earle. I first discovered Towne’s music through my late Aunt Sherry who had turned me on to Gram Parson’s music and along with my mother had always hoped I’d turn in to a country singer. Later on his song “Waiting Around To Die” was suggested to me by an old co-worker and I immediately was in awe of it’s raw emotion and almost haunting story. Plain and simple. The dude is real. I likes sad songs, so listening to Townes is therapy for the soul.

What’s next?
We are really excited to share some of the new music we’ve been working on. The Tidal Wave single will be out June 30th & the rest of the EP is available July 17th. Then in the fall we will either put out the full length our just carry on releasing EPs.!!

Anything else you’d like our readers to know about the band?
Get out of your house and attend as many live performances as you can. You might just discover your new favorite band!
